<p>It's been a few years since the international SCP community has started looking for alternatives<a id="footnoteref-726042-1" href="javascript:;" class="footnoteref" >1</a>, notably starting with Project Foundation &#8212; which is in a standstill. Hence, FR has been examining <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki">Mediawiki</a></span> as a promising option recently: it gives way more liberty than Wikidot indeed, and it offers a lot of interesting features (like a <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:VisualEditor">visual editor</a></span> extension). Basic or detailed information about how Mediawiki works can be found either on their <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki">official reference site</a></span>, in the <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="http://commandemento5.wikidot.com/forum/t-13381477/projet-de-migration">original post on O5-FR</a></span> (automatic English translation <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=fr&amp;sl=fr&amp;tl=en&amp;u=http%3A%2F%2Fcommandemento5.wikidot.com%2Fforum%2Ft-13381477%2Fprojet-de-migration">here</a></span>) or just by asking and discussing it in the Staff channel.</p> <p>The Italian wiki already decided to create a parallel testing Mediawiki website as an archive for their articles and the French are working to setup a <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://fondationscp.miraheze.org/wiki/Special:WikiForum">forum</a></span>. This thread is an invitation for every interested branch to join this international collaborative project to try and develop all the tools and features SCP would need to work perfectly on Mediawiki. A dedicated Discord server will probably be created soon and shared on the Staff channels but it would be useful to know which branches would be interested in actively contributing before we start anything, so please take all the time you need to discuss it among your respective branches' Staff and let me know in #embassy if you are up for it. Thanks in advance!</p> <div class="footnotes-footer"> <div class="title">Footnotes</div> <div class="footnote-footer" id="footnote-726042-1"><a href="javascript:;" >1</a>. Especially now that Wikidot is <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5228862.0">on sale</a></span> &#8212; despite having <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="http://community.wikidot.com/forum/t-13369301/news-from-michal-frackowiak#post-4663002">few chances to be sold and/or taken in hand in the future</a></span>.</div> </div>
