I'm Gene, 34 at the time of writing, living in Moscow, Russia. Majored in computer science and currently working as a database administrator. My English is pretty decent, although I sorely lack practice in spoken English. I was also taught German in school, but since I had zero practice of it afterwards, it's extremely rusty by now. I did several translations into English for the SCP Wiki. Still, native speakers have always been finding errors in my translations, so I really don't think I can proofread any translations here with 100% efficiency.

I'm here to… represent the Russian site, I guess. Feel free to ask me to proofread things, questions related to Russia, databases and IT in general. I did a lot of translations for the Russian site in the past, as well as some administrative work, but now I'm mostly proofreading translations done by newer members in order to provide quality control.

Not really a creative person, so you can't find me anywhere else on the Internet. I rarely appear on Discord but I check my emails and PMs regularly.

I'm 25 years old, live in Lund, Sweden and am currently on sick leave due to depression, from which I'm recovering. Before, I used to study languages and translation at Lund University. I possess a Bachelor's degree in English linguistics as well as a Magister's degree in English -> Swedish translation. I was working on my Master's thesis on the same subject when mental illnesss shut me down, though I'm intending to pick it up later at some point. I've worked a short gig as a translator before and received positive feedback.

I know several languages which I can also translate from. Aside from my Swedish and Hungarian mother tongues, I've been continuously exposed to English from various sources since age 4. Außerdem kann ich auch auf Deutsch lesen und schreiben, et je peux aussi communiquer en français, そして日本語も分かります、でも漢字が残念もう殆ど忘れていました. Besides German, French and Japanese I also know Danish and I have a passive understanding of Norwegian. I also am Master Administrator of the International Translation Archive. My job here will be to make sure the wiki is well maintained and everything works like it should and is in order, and will provide support to anyone in need.
I'll help to manage the german hub with the other German staff, and will provide some translations of DE-content.
