It's been quite a while since my last time here. Even though I was always around on discords I have been inactive on INT for a long, long time.

I'm here to put an end to this. I'm back, and ready to serve.

When I started INT back in the days with Grom, I quickly went out of free time to deal with it. And it has been my regret ever since. Since, I ve also retired from my Administrator role in FR due to the lack of free time. Which was a good thing, since I finally focused back on my writing.

But life moved on, and my new job and new life allow me to have way more free time that I had at the creation of INT or when I left the FR staff.

I ve seen Grom call the other day for new staff members, to resurrect a bit INT. This is my chance to finally do what I didn t have the time to do after its création : develop this international project I dreamed about since the Transatlanteam project in 2015.

As said I m still retired staff in FR for now. I m not replacing our current Primary Contact.

I dont know what you guys need here, but I ll gladly help to get it done. I ll let you put a name on that role whatever it will be.

The Italian wiki already decided to create a parallel testing Mediawiki website as an archive for their articles and the French are working to setup a forum. This thread is an invitation for every interested branch to join this international collaborative project to try and develop all the tools and features SCP would need to work perfectly on Mediawiki. A dedicated Discord server will probably be created soon and shared on the Staff channels but it would be useful to know which branches would be interested in actively contributing before we start anything, so please take all the time you need to discuss it among your respective branches' Staff and let me know in #embassy if you are up for it. Druing a discussion about wether or not the word "trap" was insulting (MIND YOU, that first, many of our members aren't native speakers and secondly, the discussion started because of a picture of a heterosexual, cisgendered man who dressed up as woman and the Admiral Ackbar-"Its a trap!"-meme afterwards), sepia called those who didnt exactly agree with wether it was offensive in this instance a dick. Twice.

With this the discussion excalated even more, resulting in one of our staff members, Zero Strider, leaving and as of yet not returning.

In thsi discussion sepiafishie argued that assaulting nazis is self-defense. It goes without saying, assaulting anyone can never be self-defense.

Also in this discussion, she seems not to take the people shes discussing with serious.

And also, she at one point argues that people who disagree with her only do so because they're not part of a group Nazis would threaten - which is arrogant and which I personally find insulting, especially since in this context I belong to the same "group".

As can be seen in the last screenshot, she invited people who wanted to continue the discussion to send her PMs. Following this the "sockpuppeting"-incident with another User (who was recently banned for that incident and other reasons) happened. Just to clarify: She invited people to message her, blocked one who did, and was then angry that he created another account to continue.

Because of her invitation to continue the discussion, I decided to message her after I saw the discussion. I will share the entire discussion per screenshots, and while it did not happen directly on the INT-server, I find it nevertheless important to consider. Especially since I have never written PMs with Sepiafishie before or after this, meaning that we really dont have any other relation than me being a staff member on the Discord and her being a user there.

In this discussion Sepiafishie showed signs of not taking me serious, used scrrenshots (possibly memes?) that had the words "you imbecile. you moron" in them, and in the end felt unsettled because I simply wanted her to think again about her arguing that assaulting anyone can be self-defense.

Now that you have seen this discussion, here's another reason why I decided to shar the entire conversation. Sepia accused me of sockpuppeting as well during the previously mentioned "sockpuppeting"-incident. She wasn't sure if it was me or the other user who DM'd her, so she accused both of us. Mind you, neither had she banned me, nor had I during the discussion reacted aggressively or threatening at any point, yet she went to Grom (the admin of the german branch where I'm a staff-member, mind you) and said that she believes I'm sockpuppeting her.

I hope all of that shows that we should have an eye on sepiafishie and show her much less leniency the next time she violates rule #1. By which I mean at least a kick. It was demanded she stopped being aggressive/insulting multiple times already.

Also, her constantly shitposting about being hot for cultists and cuttelfish has proven to annoy quite a number of our users. Anyone volunteers to tell her to tone that down?

28-02-2018: Crystal joined the French branch.

09-03-2018: Crystal stole the incomplete translation of an inactive member and posted it without proper crediting. We didn’t realize at the time.

13-03-2018: Crystal proposed creating a Canadian branch as it does not exist yet, and he would be in charge, then requested help to set it up. When asked why the French-speaking Canadians wouldn’t join the French-speaking branch of the SCP Foundation, he answered “We all know the instinct for independence of the French Canadians and that’s pretty much all”. A dozen of persons (both staff and more experienced members) explained to him that his project in its current form was rather useless and that they doubted he would be able to manage it properly, and he couldn’t argue back.

14-03-2018: Crystal claimed he found a forum violating the license, took the matters in his own hand by contacting them and filed a complaint when they did not listen to him. He was given an official Warning for that. User contested rather insolently.

The forum in question mimicked our 05command, with different account stealing the nicknames of staff members and copy-pasted posts and utilitarian pages. It was deleted the same day (about which Crystal bragged). It was later revealed that the admin of the forum was Crystal himself and that it predated Crystal joining our community. A second forum mimicking the forum of the French branch was also discovered with the same nicknames (this one not deleted http://bayondrpprincipal.forumactif.com/).

His answers regarding the project became less and less convincing on this second thread, as he persisted and ignored nearly every suggestion with a certain arrogance and a growing anger.

15-03-2018: Crystal broke one of the most common rules of the French Branch (posting a draft before having the idea approved). He was called to order in a very magnanimous way as a 24h ban could have been issued against him for this second major violation but behaved rudely and was called to order again.

16-03-2018: Crystal stole the incomplete translation of an inactive member and submitted it for validation, without changing a single word. We didn’t realize at the time.

Crystal apologized again for his aggressive behavior and revealed that he had already created the Canadian Wiki. However, the “Staff Organization” page of that wiki included several French staff members as staff (without them knowing) and plagiarized French guides.

We had suspicions of Crystal usurping the identity of some notable individuals (an admin of SCP-Gmod and a SCP-Youtuber). On his twitter account, he also claimed to be the manager of a 200k-youtuber.

17-03-2018: It was established that Crystal used at least two accounts to interact with us under different nicknames. He was banned 24h for that third major infraction and his behavior.

18-03-2018: It was revealed that Crystal had stolen drawings from a French artist (Anderlaxe), posted it as his own on the forum, our Discord, and external Discords. He used the nickname (Ander) for weeks in order to be more believable. Permabanned at this point for massive deception.

Several French translations have also been stolen and posted on the Canadian branch and the Author page of our admin Johannes (where he put his name instead of Johannes).

We also discovered he had created a Discord, where he copied every chan of our Discord, copy pasted our rules and even the latest news of our chan Announcement. We confronted him on this Discord but he denied everything, hiding behind his second account (despite being exposed we knew for certain it was him). We tried to explain to him one last time then left as he never cooperated.

23-03-2018: Crystal keeps stealing French material without proper crediting.

Crystal opened a thread on 05command-CA as follows:

We even told you we would be glad to see the French lore diversify. But no, you persisted. (Actually, if we check dates you created it before asking…)

Your knowledge of the lore is patchy. You seem to think each country has its O5 Council although it’s not the case. Your Canadian O5 Council is an inanity, since there only is one for all the Foundation. Your 001 is cliché and poorly written (even by Series I’s standards).

Then, you violate the license by not crediting what you take from the French branch.

But above all, you plagiarized an artist on Twitter by claiming the drawings you posted on Discord were yours. No one of the Foundation (no matter the branch) will ever trust a plagiarizer. Besides, we don’t even need to mass-report you, plagiarism breaks Wikidot’s terms of use. It’s that easy. The SCP community hates plagiarism, because we’re artists. You simply discredited yourself for life.

Today at 17:00 (GMT+1 French time), non-member Neremsa posted here, in our hidden place, a message in the name of the French branch, and not hesitating to criticize meanly one of my SCP, which is not an official and responsible behavior. I changed the permissions so non-members can no longer post. Behavior to monitor everywhere when he talks about us and NO DISCUSSING official matters with him until he apologizes properly. There are other staffs.

We consider Neremsa’s behavior was ok, so he will not get any excuse. We also think it’s incredibly sassy to ask for excuses despite never apologizing himself for his most serious offenses, but it’s not that important.

TL;DR: The whole thing is quite fucked up and he is fucked up as well. The guy has been a lying piece of deception all along, and we even have reasons to think he is actually not Canadian we even have the proof he's not Canadian and has probably never stepped a foot in Canada. We will monitor any activity of his as close as we can and already engaged the procedures to resolve the still ongoing situations. We also do not consider and will never consider his branch as legitimate.

The French staff fervently hopes all branches will cut off any unnecessary contact with this individual and his so-called representatives (at least as long as he does not apologize) and we hope he will be banned from here too.

Decided with 2 days ban (calling Staff a bitch after official warning imo warants "go straight ahead two blocks"). I just want to point out that it was kind of emergency ban, cause i'm more than sure that there will be trouble.

Wikidot is becoming more and more unreliable and unstable, and it has not gotten any updates for years now. This makes relocating to another platform inevitable on the long run, and as it isn't getting better with Wikidot, the earlier we finish it, the better. Of course we could just transfer to another Wiki-farm. But there the problems would not necessarily end, and of all Wiki-farms, Wikidot is one of the better choices, as others are full of advertisements or are having stricter regulations. So the possibly best solution would be to create an own platform.

Don't worry, the content and even votes can be transferred automatically. Also financial and legal questions will be settled in future steps. There are people who can and will program the new platform from scratch if necessary. It is also planned that all branches find a new home there. All is in good hands and this time it will be finished, thereof I am certain.

Currently there is no definite date or plans. And for the start, it would be beneficial to know what features we want to keep, and what features we want to have in the future. Therefore I ask all branches to conduct a survey to answer these questions for their branch.

These are the categories the ideas and wishes should be sorted into:

This survey will actually run till the 31th March, though we may choose to prolong it. Anyway please give us an intermediate result on the 10th March.

On the 25.01.2018 Azzy and Noobi have entered the INT's Discord and started trolling and being offensive to other users, especially certain German staff members. Both have been banned from DE's Discord after a similar incident in December. They were banned on INT and joined several other branches Discords to continue there, where they where banned immediately in most cases.

There is proof that they where invited to the servers by TheScientist.
He also seems to have a habit of choosing provoking nicknames (which got him a warning on DE the same day), like "GoF*ckYourself", something with "ACAB" in it, "Bolshewik!", "SuicideIsHealthy" (which triggered a panic attack in one of our users who is sensitive to that matter) etc.

All three have been banned for 3 years on DE, as we do not think they are going to be mature enough for our community soon.

How long should they be banned? To me it seems as if Azzy was the one who causes all the trouble while Noobi and Scientist do as he bids.

The team would be specialized on web-Technology, like Wikidot-magic, Wiki-creation, Bots and Bot creation, APIs, Scripts etc.

There are a few things to think about:

1. Are they INT-staff (like the Review Team)?
   • If they are, will new members that are not already INT-staff have to be approved by the Primary Contact of their branch?
   • If not, are they under supervision of INT-staff?
     • Are they a part of INT at all?
   • Do they get access to #staff_discussion on Discord?
   • May they take part in discussions (not voting)?
2. Do they get one or more Team Captains?
   • If they are not staff, does the TC have to be INT-staff?
3. Do they get a section in the INT-O5-Wiki or do they have to create an own Wiki?
   • If they get an own Wiki, the steps above are obsolete.
   • If they get a section on INT-O5, their non-staff-members, if there are any, will get access to the INT-O5-Wiki.
   • If they get a section on INT-O5 it could be put in a special category, so visual gimmickry like an own theme, but also certain userrights can be established.
4. Do they get a public and a non-public channel in INT's Discord like the RT?
   • Do they also get a fancy color to be easier to identify?

Then this evening, I saw the user again with this status, so I gave them five minutes to change it. They didn't so I emergency-banned them. A screenshot of the offense is in #staff-log.

This status is a criminal offense in Germany and also in other countries I asume. Therefore I emergency-banned instead of kicking them.

I'm unsure whether we should go with the standard intervall (24h) or longer for the extent of the offense.

After I told the other INT staff, he sent several messages on the french discord and denied everything entirely, then abruptly left the server. I insisted via PM, and he said that he wasn't even a member of INT (turns out he left the site) and that he had apparently been banned from the french discord (he wasn't).

He remains disconnected, although he joined back the french Discord. We haven't heard of him since then.

Holt and I suspect a severe and not assumed case of lying, and the bustle following all this kinda got me worked up, I admit.

This is my proposal:

Demand: Before taking any action, staff has to demand that the offending user stops doing the offending thing. This does not have to be logged and has no direct consequences. When making an administrative post, like a demand or a warning, you have to mark them as such, e.g. by beginning your post with “<Administrative Post>” or so.


Warning: A warning is used to let a user know their offense is not going to be tolerated anymore. Use a distinctive phrasing, e.g. “Hereby I officially warn you for continuously talking about your ass hair!”. A warning should be preceded by the demand (not) to do something.

A warning is exactly that: a warning. Everything except some forms of emergency ban should be preceded by a warning. Warnings should be logged in the staff channel and a warning-log on the O5-wiki. In this and any other logs, also log their profile ID (e.g. Grom#7303). To get this ID, either copy it manually from their profile or copy the text that appears when pinging them (for some reason you can't copy the ID from their profile).


Kick: A kick is a mix of warning and ban. The user is removed from the chat but can reenter without delay through one of the invitation links. Though many users don't seem to know that. It lets them know we are serious and gives them a preview of the hammering. If they are not serious about their membership, they won't come back.

A kick must be preceded by a warning. Also bans should be preceded by a kick. It has to be logged in the staff channel, a kick-log and a disciplinary thread for the user on the O5-wiki. You must inform the user about the reason for the kick in the kick-window.

Ban: A ban is the maximum disciplinary action we can take. It removes the user from chat and locks them out until we decide to lift the ban. It usually is the result of a user not changing offensive behavior after a kick.

Any regular ban has to be preceded by a kick. It must be logged in the staff channel and the user's disciplinary thread. There also has to be created a timer on a timer-page about when to lift the ban. Before banning someone, you should ask the other staff members who are online in the staff channel for their opinion (use @here). You must inform the user about the reason for the ban in the ban-window. Set it not to delete anything. If posts have to be removed, do it manually and only posts containing offensive or frightening (for people with certain known phobias (I know of arachnophobia and lupophobia) content. Also check again that you are banning the right user.

In the disciplinary thread, staff members may discuss a ban period differing from those below. A ban can be lifted before the period is over by voting.

The periods for banishment should be the following, incrementing to the next period if the user is banned multiple times (if the user is banned for a different offense, the ban-period may begin by 1. again):

1. 24 hours (or < 24 hours in case of minor offenses that rather require a really hard kick)
2. 1 week
3. 1 month
4. 1 year
5. perma

Somebody who hasn't learned it after the whole disciplinary escalation is rather not welcome I'd say. Everybody banned for over 24 hours may appeal their ban by PM to the staff member of their trust. If they are a pain in the ass, the staff member may block them though. The staff member forwards the discussion they have to the forum and the staff channel.

Branches may request that certain users they have banned on their branch is to be banned here as well. Open a disciplinary thread and explain the situation there.


Emergency ban: An emergency ban is a ban for an offense that doesn't allow for the usual lengthy procedure, for example:

• Criminal offenses e.g. posting child porn, links to drug-shops etc. [perma]
• Malicious content, like malware, links to infected sites etc. [perma]
• Immediately continuing an offense after being kicked
• Being a bot not invited by staff [perma]
• Inviting a bot without asking staff first
• Abusive behavior as a staff member
• Advertising without asking staff first
• Being below the minimum age for the chat (which Dr Grym as the legal owner has to set in accordance with French law) [until they are old enough]
• Having lied about their age to get into NSFW-channel [perma]

Apart from that, emergency bans are like regular bans. If there is enough time, talk to other online staff members first. Also in case of offenses not resulting in perma, you should warn them first. If other staff is not responding and banishment becomes necessary, just do it.


Informing authorities: This isn't really a disciplinary action, this is to not making ourselves chargeable. Offenses that we probably have to bring up to the authorities are e.g. child porn, links to drug-shops, links to other criminal sites etc. It is probably up to Grym to report to French police in any case, and a staff member from the homecountry of the offender, if that is known.


What is an offense: Everything that is annoying, abusing or illegal. In short, everything breaking rule #1 (Don't be a dick!) is an offense.

The most common offense we will encounter is shitposting. But what exactly is shitposting? Well, it's to post shit. Posting for the sake of posting, without any message, without coherence or just being annoying. A good indicator is that non-staff users are asking a offender to stop.


What is not an offense:

• Not being a member of any wiki (should use the tag of the branch they are most often visiting)
  • I'd like to make an exemption for Philippine users. They are not having a wiki afaik, but a very active facebook group. I'd say they can use “-PH”.
• Not using their Wikidot-nick as their nickname on discord (though this would be useful)
• Thinking the Foundation is real. I mean, lots of us had at least doubts when we first encountered the Foundation (though playing inconvincible may be counted as an offense).
• Having an unpopular opinion. We are a group of people from different countries, with different cultures and different perceptions of what is normal. Everybody is free to state and discuss their opinion if they do it in a civilized and respecting matter. This requirement also applies for staff members.
• Being offensive unintentionally. Again, what is normal to some can be offensive to others and not everyone can express themselves well in English. Explain them their mistake in a respectful way, no matter how hard you are offended. If you can't, ask another staff member to do so.
• Being offensive outside of the INT wiki or chat. We are not responsible for Wikidots or Discords private messages or the chats of other branches.

The decision was made by me. If you have any objections to said decision, wish to rescind the band and/or replace it with another form of punishment, or otherwise wish to discuss the ban, this is the thread to do it in.

We now have to decide how the International Translation Archive handles this issue.

I see the following possibilities:

1. We move RU from the official branches lists on the main page and link pages to unofficial branches, remove their hub and move their content to the Others Hub.
2. Like 1. but we keep their hub.
3. We do nothing.
4. We wait for some time and decide then.

Everybody may discuss, but as this is a sensitive matter, I think only Primary Contacts should vote.

I did it mostly bc we had this role in the -FR chan. This is useful to be sure the new users can only access one chan. By doing so, we avoid having troll comings and posting shit in multiple chans. Once they are authentified as "real" members, they can access further chans. Also, it is useless to let people no being part of the community to access writting-help chans.

I personally do not think we need such a role right now. I think an invisible role "limited-access" to limit problematic users to general discussions would be better.

Removing the members role would reduce moderation effort and improve overview. We could make the branch roles visible instead. Because of our lack of trolls it right now only indicated who is a new member (or who didn't manage to add the branch-tag).

Please choose one of the following options (feel free to propose other possibilities):

1. Remove "members" role and add "limited-access" role.
2. Remove "members" role without replacement.
3. Keep the "members" role and limit access to non-members to #general_discussion.
4. Don't change anything.

This is kind of convenient because sometimes talk in #general_discussion scratches the edge of adult talk. To be able to have this kind of talk without having to watch out for youth protection, creation of an adult channel was proposed.

I propose the following:

• We create a channel #adult_talk which is meant for exactly that.
• It will not be meant for porn.
• The "I'm 18 or older" button is a legal gray area. To make sure everybody in the channel is old enough, we would have to check everybody's wikidot profile, public information and ask other branch members.
  • We then could either make a "not-18" user role for people found not to be 18 that is not allowed in the adult channel.
  • We also could make a "18-or-older" user role for people allowed there, though this would take more effort. (People who enter the NSFW channel without being in that role could be set to be unable to read messages)
• Wether images/links are to be allowed was a matter of heated discussion in the staff chat.
  • We could forbid all nudity.
  • We could allow nudity but forbid nude selfies (also to preserve personality rights of people involved).
    • To ease enforcement of this we could disable uploads and only allow links.
    • We also could reverse search suspicious images: No result = ban for time X.
  • We could allow nudity without genitalia (would not count as illegal for underaged at least in DE)
  • Or something not yet mentioned.

As this is a delicate topic I suggest deciding both, the creation of such channel itself, and the image/links topic separately.

Also as this is a topic regarding legality, Grym who is the chat owner can overrule all voices in this decision.

• Such a channel may mislead people from seeking professional attention, but could also mean that anyone going there could be adviced to seek professional attention.
• It may be subject to trolls, even if we had nearly none of them since the chat is up.
  • This is especially sensible as topic, as people there should be promised a safe heaven to talk, not be interrupted or joked about.
    • It has been proposed to institute a "support" role in order to counter this problem, but some have debated that at this point a private message or a user-created chat room of 10 people tops, as offered by Discord, would be the same if not better.

The user also created lots of sandboxes on multiple branches (see his user info). Looks like a paper chase. But unless the user got approval by our staff for this I'd count it as clickbait. If you want to play such games, ask first.

The user has been emergeny banned from the chat with approval of LadyKatie, Rikjard Regreps, LofB and myself.

We now have to discuss how long the user stays banned, and if we also ban them from the wiki.

What should we do about this? I'm seeing the following options:

1. Only latin letters
2. The nickname must start with enough latin letters to easily ping them but may continue with any characters.
3. No restriction

I would need a lot of help running this. I already run another game, along with GMing for a job. Also, most of you are not in the same time zone I am. Having enough help running this is my biggest concern.

I know we're growing, but I don't know if we have an already interested playerbase.

And if I want to run something, I want to run something successful. I have seen enough RPs lose momentum due to infighting, chaos, disagreements on immersion, disagreements in general, and bad GMing. I don't want this to fall apart before it gets a chance to actually be something.

Anyway, input your two cents, if you'd like.

Do we need strict rules what suits for an emergency ban or does every staff member decide freely what is ban-worthy and what is not?
Can one staff member alone decide to emergeny ban or do others have to be asked in the staff channel first?

The main disagreement at the time, if I recall, was whether or not to post articles to the wiki under their original numbers or to post them in this hub under their original number. My concern was that having a different hub that separated the works from the main wiki would cause it to become a content ghetto that would lower the profile of our hard-working international partners instead of raising it.

But, seeing that we now have a platform to create high-quality English translations, I propose the following: That articles that are found to be "o" quality by the Review Team could be reviewed by this site's administration, or another review board set up by the international community.

If vetted, it could then be posted to a hub that would exist on the main wiki. This would ensure that only high-quality and well-translated works get posted and therefore make the translation hub a place where people can discover the best SCPs the world has to offer.

This hub would probably be able to be linked from the side or top bar of the English SCP Wiki.

Every time someone posts something, he/she rightly put a tribute module in there to let us know the origin of that article. However, I've been around a bit and different people do it in different ways, and with a different format, too. I'd like to know if we can arrive to a consensus about how to structure them (i.e., what are the fields to put in the module) and where to post them, at the bottom of the article or in the comments section.

In this thread I'd like you to vote for the order the branches should be in in lists in the Archive.

1. Alphabetically: CN, DE, ES, FR, JP, KO, PL, RU, TH
2. Front page order: RU, KO, CN, FR, PL, ES, TH, JP, DE
3. Order they joined the Archive: DE, FR, ES, KO, JP, PL, RU, (CN, TH)

• A Review Team is founded
• It is lead by a Team Captain and consists of everybody willing and able to do the teams job.
  • The Captain becomes at least Moderator
  • Everybody is allowed in this team, if they are fluent in English - regardless if native or not, or a Representative of a branch.
  • Every team member who is no moderator becomes Staff member
    • I don't think we need a separation between Junior- and Senior staff.
  • Users may apply for membership in the team, or may be invited by the Team Captain.
    • The Team Captain decides who is a member in the team
    • Primary Contacts may veto for or against a member.
    • Primary Contacts may vote to replace the Team Captain.
• The job of the team is as follows:
  • To review translations for spelling, grammar, scientific tone and expression.
  • To create and maintain guides with common words and expressions, that may not be found in normal dictionaries. An SCP-dictionary of some sort.
  • To manage the attention-level tags.
• The job of the team is not:
  • Representing any branch. Membership or being staff in any branch has no influence on the job in the Review-Team and vice versa.
  • To check the content itself. Each branch may have deviations from the "EN-standard" that are to be left untouched. Like the French Thread-levels or the German O4.

Unfortunatelly I can't program, I can just edit existing code. So I ask all the webdesigners and software developers among you or the users of your branch (which I ask you to point to this thread) to write a script that does the following (which seems not to be possible with wikidot-magic):

• It checks if the current page also exists in other branches.
• If it does it shows a list of links to all versions of this page in each language.
• This list is shown in the sidebar, like in this example (here the links where added manually)

As far as I know, Wikidot supports javascript and it is possible to embed stuff from external pages. Maybe the information can be taken directly from Wikidot, the database of http://scpper.com/ by FiftyNine can be used, or we could borrow Jarvis from the EN-wiki to maintain a new database for this. Or the script just checks all branches wether the page exists or not.

Der Archivar has been looking into this but he currently is not very active and I don't know how far he has come.

recently a problem occured, that concerns all branches: The preview icon of the wikis in Facebook and porbably other social media where not properly shown. Instead of the SCP-Icon, the little red house of the first link in the sidebar was displayed.

Usually FB and other pages are searching the information for this preview by themselves from the code, and are caching it. The image for example usually seems to be the first image found in the code of the body (the part below the header) of the page. That is why there is this little SCP-logo with a size of 0 pixels in the code of the front page, right below the CSS-block.

Though you can also explicitly tell FB and others, what image, title, description etc. you want to display. In addition to the following meta-tags I suggest to leave the image in the code of the front page though.

I suggest the following Meta-Tags for all branches and sub-sites:
I recommend to only set this tags to the front page. If someone links to an article, let FB search again to display images from that article. You can also add meta-tags to other pages if you want.

  • Set the exact url to your site

• Do not remove the image from your front page.
• Remove the meta tag property="description" content="Front Page", if you have set it.
• Add the line [[image url_of_you_preview_image width="0" height="0"]] to your nav:side, above the first link. This way you make sure that FB and others find this image before the red house-icon, if an article without images is shared.
• If you don't want a giant version of your hub-logo to be displayed if the hub is shared, I suggest uploading a 250x250 px version of that logo and
  • Add this with size 0 above your normal logo
  • Set the og:image meta-tag for your hub.
• You should also add the other meta-tags to your hub. Though doing so is up to each branch.

Once you are done:

• Go to the Facebook debugger, or if you don't have a Facebook account ask somebody who has one, enter your branches address and force FB to update its cached information. It sometimes takes some time for this tool to really update its information. Wait like 30 seconds between each update-attempt.
  • Other social media like VK etc. probably also have a function like this.
• Go to the Google testing tool and see if it displays any errors for your site.

We all (or must of us) are no fluent English-speakers, and we know that we cannot provide perfect translations. If everyone who translates something opens a thread to ask for review we will make pretty slow progress.

I propose the following:

• Whoever creates a translation may post it in the wiki.
• They then will think about the translation quality and will set one of these tags:
  • o = Quite good, only minor correction needed, if at all
  • oo = Needs a little review, not many errors expected.
  • ooo = Needs minor attention.
  • oooo = Needs major attention. Lots of correction needed.
  • ooooo = Emergency. Partially rewrite may be necessary, while MTFs secure the premises.
• They then make a post in a special thread or use the chat to announce their translation, especially if ooo or above.
  • Staff can raise the attention-level if they feel it's to low.
• Everyone who reviews the page removes one o.
• The last o can only be removed by someone speaking very good English, e.g. en-3 or higher.
  • The last o will be replaced by _o, a hidden tag that isn't shown in the tag-list, but is usefull for automated lists.
• We will create automated lists with this tags, so reviewers are directly pointed to the pages most in need.

Please discuss.

• Newbie's guide : to say how everyone should behave on the wiki. Just a few words, not a 50 pages law.
• Staff list and description : just to know who's doing what and to be sure people can know what's the right person to contact if needed.
• A timezone list, at least for the staff, to know who's up to work at what time

For the moment, most of the branches didn't choose "officialy" in intern, their official representatives, and this O5 is populated by people who are "provisionnal" staff, as long as this choice is pending. For a simple reason : we granted access to people in the first place to have local contacts, but we don't want to put ourselves in a position where we choose for the other branches who will represent them.

For the two question I've asked :

-> Each branch will have a "representative leader". One person by branch, who will have an admin access. Seems fair to grant every branch the same right here to vote / being in admin discussion etc. The others representatives from each branch will be moderators
-> For the number of representatives… I don't really know yet. Maybe having as much people as possible at the start is the best thing to do to have an active wiki.

What do you guys think ?

Hi, I'm Dr_Grom, 32 years old, an engineer, living in Germany (80 km beeline north-east of Cologne) and I'm the Master Administrator of the German branch.

This project is meant to be an international collaboration. If you have to say anything, say it. If you have a proposal to make, do it. If you are not content with decisions - from the present or the past - say it. If you need something, ask for it. If you can offer help, do it.

Everybody in the O5-Wiki is a staff member of one of the branches and, until proven otherwise, can be considered mature enough to not need constant supervision. In here, everybody will be heard and everybody's voice counts.

If in the future we will need stricter regulations, we will see. I hope not.
