The Discord user Pepsi - EN@Bepsei#4629 has had a status claiming "Hitler didn't do anything wrong" this morning (CET). As this is a criminal offense in some countries and in my opinion a strong violation of Rule #1, I wanted to warn the user this morning but they changed it beforehand, so I warned the user at 10:08 not to use this status again.

Then this evening, I saw the user again with this status, so I gave them five minutes to change it. They didn't so I emergency-banned them. A screenshot of the offense is in #staff-log.

This status is a criminal offense in Germany and also in other countries I asume. Therefore I emergency-banned instead of kicking them.

I'm unsure whether we should go with the standard intervall (24h) or longer for the extent of the offense.

Well, user is banned right now, so i guess it's 24 hours ban? (Hard Kick) If not then why ban still stands?

As for user i belive they have no idea they did something bad: afaik that's common "meme" in some places. 5 minutes wait time after public demand may be too harsh, cause user probably was too busy to saw that.

In my opinion we should unban that user, write DM about issue and move to 24h ban on next offense.

It is a criminal offense. I don't know the law in France but I know that the law in Germany regarding such things is zero-tolerance. Therefore the emergency-ban. It can even be prosecuted by German law enforcement outside of Germany. In fact, it is holocaust-denial which - if you get a judge who is not familiar with the concept of memes - could easily result in five years of prison, should he set foot to Germany, or should law enforcement decide to demand extradition. This offense may even be on a higher level than swastikas - if a judge takes it serious. He has been pinged and clearly warned yesterday morning, hours before he put it up again. I could also have banned him immediately regarding the warning before. Not looking after his pings is his problem, I'm not going to make it mine. I know it's a joke, but I'm not going to take a risk; law enforcement is full of old farts who have no clue about the internet and memes.

I'd say we go with 24 h from yesterday 18:16 o'clock and tell him why he was banned when he is being unbanned.
